Step 1 Attend a counselling session with our team

Step 3 Accept Offer, Pay the required tuition fee
At this stage, you need to pay the tuition fee request by the institute in the offer letter. If there were any conditions included in your offer letter, you must have met the conditions by this step. Our office can help you with the foreign exchange transaction.

Step 4 Make GIC Investment (Applicable to Student Direct Stream)
This is when you are required to make the GIC investment and it involves opening bank account in Canada with the approved financial institutions. Our expert team member will not only help you with opening the bank account but will also help you with the foreign exchange transaction.

Step 5 Undertake Medical Examination
You need to undertake the medical examination with the doctors approved by the Canadian government.

Step 6 Apply for Study Permit
We check all your documents to ensure that they meet the study permit requirements. We lodge the study permit application on your behalf and track the progress of the same.

Step 7 Attend Biometrics appointment
We help you with making the appointment. Once the appointment is confirmed, you need to attend the appointment and take the documents required at the time of attendance.

Step 8 Submit your original passport upon request from visa office
In most of the cases, this stage only happens when the study permit is in principle approved. We will help you with this and make arrangements for the passport to be sent.

SDS if a faster way to get study permit by applying online through the Student Direct Stream. SDS is available to legal residents of certain countries including those residing in India. To apply under SDS, you must meet study permit requirements.

You must have one of the following language test results to meet the English language requirements:
- IELTS academic or general training score of 6.0 or higher in each of the four modules i.e. reading, writing, speaking, and listening OR
- a Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) score that is equal to a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of at least 7 in each of the 4 skills i.e. reading, writing, speaking and listening
You must receive the letter of acceptance from the institute that you intend to study in. Note that conditional acceptance is not acceptable.
All international students who study in Canada are required to have health insurance. Medical coverage available to international students varies from province to province, in provinces in which international students are not covered under provincial health care plans, you will have to make arrangements for private health insurance coverage.
You must provide the proof of having paid first year tuition fee for your study. This could be in the form of receipt, official letter from institute confirming the payment of tuition fee.
A GIC is a Canadian investment that has a guaranteed rate of return for a fixed period of time. You need to provide of an investment of CAD 10,000.
You must provide evidence that you have enough money to pay for:
- your tuition fees for the remainder course
- living expenses for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada and
- return transportation for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada
You must be a person of good health. This can be proven from the result of the medical examination that you are required to undertake as a part of the visa process.
The following members of your family can join you whilst you are on study permit:
- Spouse
- Common-law partner
- Dependent children who are under the age of 22 years and are single
If you do not meet the requirements for the Student Direct Stream (SDS), you must qualify for the regular study permit.
You need to meet the language requirements of the institute that you intend to study in. Some of the acceptable test include but are not limited to IELTS, PTE and TOEFL.

While on a student visa in Canada, study permit holders can work up to 20 hours per week during regular school terms/semesters. You can work more than 1 job to make up these hours as long as you continue to meet the conditions of your study permit.
You can work full-time if you’re on a scheduled break, such as winter and summer holidays, or a fall or spring reading week. You’re free to work overtime or work 2 part-time jobs that add up to a higher than usual number of hours. You must be a full-time student both before and after the break to work full-time. You can’t work during a break that comes before you start your very first school semester.
As an international student, upon graduation, you have an opportunity to work in Canada for up to three years. You will need to apply for work permit under the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP). You don’t need a job offer to apply and can work anywhere in Canada in any occupation, even if it’s unrelated to your studies.
Your spouse or common-law partner may be eligible for an open work permit if you have a valid study permit:
- are eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) and
- are a full-time student at one of these types of schools
- a public post-secondary school, such as a college or university, or CEGEP in Quebec
- a private college-level school in Quebec
- a Canadian private school that can legally award degrees under provincial law (for example, Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree)
